The year is 2071. A small ship named the Bebop hurtles from planet to planet, its
four inhabitants in search of one thing - the next biggest bounty. Spike, an
easygoing 20-something guy, Faye, a cold-hearted and ruthless beauty, Ed, a
young girl with an affinity with computers and Jet, a former space policeman
travel the galaxy in pursuit of the cold, hard cash which will pay for their
next meal. Extraordinary circumstances have forced them together and now they
work as bounty hunters, scouring the cosmos for those who don't want to be
found.
Every day is a struggle aboard the Bebop as the four intrepid hunters go to
any lengths to find the fugitives with the highest price tags, missions which
often land them in the stickiest, dangerous and downright weirdest of situations.
Join Spike as he gets himself put into prison to bust out an inmate, and follow
Faye as she embarks on a female-only manhunt for a guy who's put a 60,000,000
woolong bounty on himself. Cowboy Bebop the manga is adapted from the
smash hit manga series of the same name and features Spike, Faye, Ed and Jet
in all-new stories.

I haven't seen the
Cowboy Bebop anime, but when I picked up this title I was vaguely aware of
the series' storyline and characters. Cowboy Bebop seems to be one of
those series with the 'cool' persona and appeals to a large audience with its
easy-to-follow storyline and light-hearted (yet intense in places) subject
matter.
While deeper and more serious tones loom on the horizon, this series remains a
good quick read for those who want simple and uncomplicated entertainment from
their manga. Everything about Cowboy Bebop is refreshingly different and
memorable, from the vibrant characters to the elongated, unmistakable drawing
style.

Manga
Cowboy Bebop
is rare in that it was first an anime. This manga series is a 'spin-off' if you will, a
collection of stories set anywhere during the course of the main storyline; but
I've found it fully enjoyable on its own. As well as this series there is
another, Cowboy Bebop Shooting Star, which is a full adaptation of the
main storyline from the beginning, albeit with noticeable differences in terms
of the characters and design.
Anime
Cowboy Bebop
has been shown on television in various countries in the West, and is also available
on DVD from most sellers. As well as the 26-episode series, there's also a special episode
and a film, Cowboy Bebop: Knockin' on Heaven's Door (also known as
Cowboy Bebop: the Movie in North America).
