Why did you decide to create this WebClique?
I guess it was because I don't know many other Christians who have websites, and
it would be really nice to meet people like that. I thought perhaps that others
felt the same, and so my idea became a reality.
The Christian youth culture has really improved in exposure over the last few
years with the growth in popularity of Christian pop music and concerts, and
famous Christians speaking out about their faith. However, I feel that there is
still a long way to go to create the thriving online Christian community that I
feel we all need. After all, the internet is a major form of communication and
therefore we can use it for fellowship and to reach out to others, especially as
there is so much religious-orientated strife, hatred and misunderstanding in
the world right now.
I believe in a God who wants us to heal the hurts of the world and reach out to
others with understanding and compassion, not self-righteousness. If you do too,
perhaps you would consider joining this clique and making your own opinions
known.

Who can join?
I really only have two stipulations for the members of this clique.
Firstly, you should be a Christian of any denomination, any age and any
background. Anyone and everyone who believes in Jesus and accepts Him as their
Lord and Saviour can join this clique. These are the only two things which
define someone as a Christian. I know there are other cliques which turn people
away because they don't agree with who they are, where they're from, their
sexuality or which Church they attend, but I won't. This is a Christian clique,
and Christianity means love - Jesus' love, which hasn't, doesn't and will never
apply to anything less than the entire human race; and as Christians, we are
called to love all people the same way as Jesus did.
Secondly, you should own a website of some description. This can be anything
from a few pages on geocities to your own server, and certainly includes diary
and community sites such as Xanga, Myspace and Livejournal.
The only thing I ask from you is that you link back to this site in some way,
either with a text link or using one of the codes I have provided. That way
other Christian web designers can find you and look at your website, knowing you
are Christian, which is the whole point. If you don't know how to do this then
ask me (replace the [AT] with an @) before attempting to join, I will be very
pleased to help you.
As I mentioned on the front page, this is not an elitist clique and it doesn't
matter how good your website is - it's the person behind it who counts, and I
want this to be a group of Christians interested in web design rather than a
list of links to Christian websites.

Why "LIGHT OF THE WORLD"?
First of all, I really like this metaphor! It's used in several places in the
Bible to describe Jesus. In John it says;
"Jesus said to the people, 'I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you
won't be stumbling through the darkness, because you will have the light that
leads to life."
John 8:12
However, it is also used at one point to describe those who follow Christ;
"You are the light of the world -- like a city on a mountain, glowing in the
night for all to see."
Matthew 5:14
I think that this passage from Matthew is saying that if we follow Jesus we will
be luminous, reflecting Christ's light throughout the world like beacons into
the darkness. I feel that this is our duty somewhat; thus I thought the double
meaning qualified this as a good title for my website.

Who are you?
I'm Mazzie, a 22 year old Christian from the UK. I was brought up in a Christian
household, and gave my life to Jesus in 2005. You can find out more about me by
either visiting my main site or reading my testimony, which you can find in the
testimonies section.
