A true light is pure
and shines down from heaven
And fills the valleys with a loving glow
A true thought is pure and dreams of a world
Where people can live without danger or foe
A true sound is sweet and floats free in the air
The voices of angels singing on clouds above
A true smile is forgiving and banishes regret
And replaces the hurt with peace and love
A true smell is rich like freshly-baked bread
It diffuses through the air on a sunny day
A true gift is worth more than it's weight in gold
Even though the price was little to pay
But better than all the artwork of creation itself
Lies a part of human nature that is richer than wealth
A true friend is always there to see you through
And the best thing of all is that I've found one in you
I wrote this poem
for my friends Jenny and Kathryn when I was still at sixth form. I'll never
forget how kind they were to me when I was on my own, starting at a new place
where everyone else knew each other already.
