That Dejected President... その 憂鬱な社長ったら...
A day in the life of Aria-shachou! It's nearing the end of summer, and Alicia and Akari have closed ARIA Company for the day to do some spring-cleaning. Aria-shachou is enjoying directing the operation; however, he soon gets in the way of the cleaning and retreats to his desk. Getting bored, he decides to join in and 'lead by example'. Unfortunately, his attempts result in more mess for Alicia and Akari to clean up. He tidies his desk drawer.
Heading into the kitchen, Aria-shachou decides to make a special soup to reward Alicia and Akari's hard work. A special soup indeed, as it contains everything he can find (vegetables, bananas, tomato sauce, chocolate...). Aria-shachou takes a sip of his creation and falls backwards out of the window.
Later, Aria-shachou tries to help by beating the laundry hanging outside on the balcony. Losing his balance, he grabs onto the drying sheets one by one, and soon the entire batch of washing is floating on the water. Feeling dejected and useless, he types out a goodbye message, ties his worldly belongings and some food (of which he finds difficult not to eat immediately!) up into a sack. Unnoticed by the girls, he slips away.
Unsure where to go next, he's distracted by Akari's calling - have they discovered he's missing? No - Akari had used the wrong cleaning fluid to clean the toilet. Then, they find his goodbye letter. Alicia mistakes his message, thinking he's just gone out for a while, and the two girls return to their cleaning. Feeling even more unwanted, Aria-shachou wanders off into Neo-Venezia.
Sitting high up a tall tower, he he meets a new friend - a seagull, who seems much more interested in his 'emergency supply' of food than friendship. Sitting at the edge of a small pier, he meets a small girl who finds him very cute and decides to take him back to Man Home with her. After running away as fast as he can, Aria-shachou again sinks into a depression.
Gondolas bearing couples float past him on the canal, and Aria-shachou is hit with a brainwave. Hime-shachou will know how he feels! Running breathlessly to Himeya, he arrives to see Hime-shachou enjoying the sunset with Aika. Neither of them notice as Aria-shachou walks away sadly.
Having nowhere else to go, Aria-shachou returns home, and eats the remainders of his rice ball on the rooftop of ARIA Company, with only his doll for company. Below, Akari and Alicia have finished the spring-cleaning, and Akari decides to go look for Aria-shachou... no need, as Aria-shachou appears above her head. He can't get down off the roof. With the help of a ladder, Alicia soon has him down again.
Feeling a good deal better, Aria-shachou tucks into dinner (omu-rice) with Alicia and Akari, which includes an 'improved' version of his special soup. The half-episode ends with Ai expressing her wish to taste Alicia's omu-rice too :)
New characters met: a greedy seagull, and a little girl with a frog puppet.
