She has an older sister who spent her honeymoon on Aqua, and decided to come to Neo-Venezia with her parents after her sister told her so much about it.   However she found her visit boring until the day she decided to ride Alicia Florence's gondola, which her sister praised the most. When she called, Alicia was out, and she ended up riding on Akari Mizunashi's gondola. In the beginning she was negative and didn't like Neo-Venezia, but through her experiences on that first day with Akari and Aika S. Granzchesta, eventually became Akari and Aika's friend and grew to love the city.   It is she that Akari writes to constantly, telling her of daily life in Neo-Venezia. Aria-shachou is very fond of her. Ai is very much in awe of undines and Aqua, and it is likely that she will become an undine when she is older.
